APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2012 SEASON ARE NOW OPEN
Anyone is welcome to apply to Festival Branch – whether or not they have been a member of Samaritans before. We welcome applications from current or ex-Samaritans, but be warned that our way of working is different from other branches.
We have an Equal Opportunities policy, and particularly welcome applicants from ethnic minorities. As we are spread throughout the UK, your home location doesn’t matter and all travel expenses can be paid by the branch.
We recruit once a year, and the process usually works as follows…
In early January, application forms are sent out to everyone who has registered an interest during the previous year. You will need to provide the name of a referee, and return the form during January. Applicants will be asked to attend a Selection Weekend in March. Travel expenses can be refunded.
If you are selected, you will attend an Initial Training weekend in April. All Branch members must attend the Branch Preparation weekend during May, and the AGM weekend in November, as well as at least three festivals during the year.
